LaLaLaLaLaLaLa...

One of the characteristics of a person who serves the Lord is that they listen to what He is saying. They quiet themselves throughout their day to hear wisdom's voice. Unfortunately our culture is becoming one where people don't want to listen to what others are saying, including the Lord. They plug their ears making a distinct and defiant statement by their actions. It's funny how we expect our children to listen to us, our employees, and even those we oversee, but when it comes to us listening, it can be a real challenge. Why is it hard for us listen to others? Maybe it's pride, embarrassment or maybe just not knowing how to? Wherever our unwillingness comes from, it can set us up for great failure. Proverbs 8:32-33 tells us, "And so, my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful. Listen to my instruction and be wise. Don’t ignore it." Wisdom is speaking very clearly to us here. Addressing us as beloved children, and pleading with us to listen to him. If we do listen and follow there's the promise of joy and wisdom. Whether our choice to not listen is unintentional or not, we can't fall its trap. Today the Lord is speaking. The question is whether or not we'll choose to listen.
