Pain

I was talking with someone recently who said that they wanted no more pain in their life. They had endured much of it throughout their life and felt they'd had their fill of it. When it comes to life, things  are going to happen which produce pain. I think it's unavoidable. However, the silver lining to enduring pain is having someone who's there for you as you go through it. As I think about some of the more painful times and seasons in my life, I don't know how I would have made it without the Lord Himself and other friends around me. I think of Psalm 23:4 which says, Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid,  for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me." I also am reminded of Psalm 94:19, "In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul." God truly is my comforter, my hope and my strength. Whether my day's going well or is a challenge, in my times of difficulty and pain, I will trust in the Lord. He alone is the One I must turn to. God often doesn't take away my pain, but helps me through it :)
