Simple Things

Sometimes it's easy to forget how the simple things can mean so much to us. Yesterday at HITC I decided to give the students a "dress down" day today. As soon as I notified the students about my intention, I seemed to instantly become their hero. Why? Because things that may not seem like they're a big deal to you, may actually be a big deal to someone else. In school today the HITC students are full of gratitude because they were able to dress casually. Too often in our culture we're looking for the big things and can very easily overlook the little things. But it's these little things that can mean so much to others. Holding a door open for someone or simply thanking the store clerk can make such an impact in someone's day. I realize that many of you have a full day today, having many things to do. But as you go throughout your day, don't forget the little things, because often it's those little things that can mean so much to others. What may not be a big deal to you can be huge to someone else :)
