Will You Finish or Get Distracted?

Have you ever started something and didn't seem to finish? I think this is an all too common occurrence. How many times have you gone to Costco for a specific item and before you know it every part of the store is screaming your name. What should have been a 15 minute trip for one item, has suddenly become an hour and 15 trip and you end up with 20 items. So why does this happen? Distractions! We as a culture are so easily distracted. Attention spans are shrinking, finishing things is on the decrease and putting things on hold is on skyrocketing. It's funny to me how easy it is for distractions to prevent us from doing what needs to be done. What needs to take place is for us to "stay the course." Whether it's something small, or something that's life changing, we must become finishers. I think of Paul's words in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." This must be our resolve for today! Our world is full of those who start, but those who finish are few. Today I will not allow distractions to get in the way and prevent me from being a finisher! Be on guard, because those little distractions will be hiding around every corner, just waiting. Don't let distractions get in your way today and cross your finish line :)
