Why Are You So Surprised About What's Going On?

No matter where you live you can't escape the negative things that are going on in culture. What's interesting to me is why some people seem surprised at what they see around them. I don't know when the Lord is going to return, however, most Christians believe that we are in the last days, to some extent. The Bible is very clear about some of the tragic things that will be obvious to us in the last days. In 2 Timothy 3:1-5 the Message clearly warns us, "Don't be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They'll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they're animals. Stay clear of these people." These things are unfortunately inevitable, however, our safeguard is to live out Luke 10:27 which says, "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And, Love your neighbor as yourself." Don't be surprised about everything going on around you, but make sure you keep your focus on the Lord and do His will :)
