Ashes, Mourning and Heaviness

Jesus truly is amazing! The fact that He came to do some exchanging with us is sometimes hard to wrap our minds around. For so many people ashes, mourning and heaviness are part of their life and identity. Yet these three things are so far from who Jesus sees us as and desires us to be. So He came to do some divine exchanging with us and still does this exchanging today. God sent Jesus according to Isaiah 61, "...To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness..." I want you to think for a moment about your life being filled with beauty, joy and praise. Jesus' desire is to exchange your ashes, mourning and heaviness for His beauty, joy and praise. It's an amazing opportunity for us if we'll make the exchange with Him. You don't have to carry those things around any more that have burdened and weighed you down. Simply give them to Jesus and receive what He has for you. It's an exchange you can't afford to miss out on. I encourage you to read the entire passage of Isaiah 61 as it has a lot more of what Jesus desires to do in your life :)
