The Empty Tomb and Us
Tomorrow is one of the biggest, if not the biggest and most significant days for Christians, as we celebrate Easter. A lot of people talk about the fact that Christ died for our sins. Yet that's only half of it. The other half is that Christ rose. Jesus rose from the dead! These two events are like the two sides of a coin. They go together and cannot be separated. Every other religion's main person (the one they worship) died, but wan't resurrected. In Matthew 28:6 the two women who were standing at the empty tomb said, "He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying." The stone wasn't rolled away so Jesus could escape. It was rolled away so that those there would see that the tomb was empty. They saw that He was gone. That tomb simply couldn't hold Him. Jesus' desire is for us as believers to live in His resurrection power. He overcame death and the grave for us, so that we could live in His power. Tomorrow, as many of us attend Easter services, rejoice in what Christ did for us and the walk your Christian walk living in His power :) Happy Easter.
