Curves On the Road of Life

If you're anything like me, it's easy to map out a course and move forward. But sometimes what I think is the right way, actually may not be true. It's easy to think we know the way to go and that the direction we're moving is the right way. What I've personally experienced in my life is that being a follower of Jesus Christ means that sometimes the direction your heading changes. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." My responsibilities are to trust Him, acknowledge Him and to not lean on my own understanding. His responsibility will be to direct my paths, making them obvious and straight. Sometimes the path I'm on seems to be going in circles without any specific direction. This is not God's doing, but mine. So often the curves, loops and bumps are my doing and not God's. I can take such comfort in God's promise found in Proverbs 3:5-6 and am so thankful for Him directing my paths and making them straight :)
